Arie Luyendyk Jr. and wife Lauren Burnham Luyendyk are in the process of growing their family after the former Bachelor reversed his 2022 vasectomy.
“I’m getting a reversal,” Arie, 43, said in a Thursday, February 20, YouTube video alongside his wife. “As you guys know I got the vasectomy after the twins were born. And ever since then, I don’t know. I think I rushed it. Honestly, it’s more on me, I think having the twins was hard at first.”
The couple, who got married in January 2019, share three kids, daughter Alessi, 5, and twins Senna and Lux, 3.
In the video, Arie dove into why he decided to reverse his vasectomy.
“I kind of remember a moment of watching Senna and all of our kids are at the best age right now,” he said. “I just felt like, ‘Dang it, I think we could do this again.’ And if we had a singleton, we can totally handle that.”
Now, Arie and Lauren, 33, are looking for “the best options” for surgeons, including a vasectomy reversal doctor in their area who has a “97 percent success rate.”
“Hopefully baby No. 4 coming soon,” the family matriarch gushed.
After making their major announcement, the clip cut to procedure day. After everything went well inside the operating room, the family patriarch was welcomed home by his family, who made him a recovery basket. Not to mention, Arie received fabulous couch side service from his kids, who hand-fed him his pizza.
Fans were ecstatic to hear that the Luyendyk family was growing and shared their happy feelings in the comments section of the YouTube video.
“Yeah I think it’s wonderful that the two of you decided this together. Best wishes for your family. You’re good parents from what I see and a child will be blessed,” one person wrote.
A second person gushed, “My almost 19 year old is a blessing from a reversal!”
Meanwhile, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the video was seemingly recorded months ago, leading some to speculate if Lauren is pregnant with baby No. 4.
“Exciting! I can’t help but notice what appears to be a first day of preschool banner. Wonder if it happened in September? I have a feeling it worked!!” a third fan commented. “Her last couple Instagram posts look like they could be intentionally posed to hide a bump.”
A fourth fan agreed, writing, “I bet she’s already pregnant! If you look — they have a back to school sign on the counter right after his surgery.”
Much like the vasectomy reversal video, Arie and Lauren documented and shared when he initially got the procedure done in February 2022. By the following year, the former reality star admitted that he may have “rushed” to get the vasectomy.
During an April 2024 Instagram Q&A, a fan asked Arie if he wanted more kids in the future.
“A year ago I would have said 100 percent no way but I’m feeling more and more like I rushed the vasectomy,” the Traitors alum wrote alongside a video of his youngest daughter, Alessi. “Don’t know yet what the future holds but rn I’m loving this stage with them.”
