Love Is Blind season 8 followed five couples who got engaged during their time in the pods. Kylie Schuelke and Brian Sumption also found love, but their story wasn’t shown.
The couple shared a joint message via Instagram on Monday, February 17, alongside a carousel of photos as they hosted a Love Is Blind watch party at the Troubadour Wine Bar, which Brian, 30, owns. In one of the pictures, Brian and Kylie, 28, shared a kiss.
“From the pods to reality — what a journey! Grateful for every moment, every lesson, and everyone I met along the way,” Kylie captioned the set of images. “Love Is Blind — you were a wild, unforgettable ride.”
While it remained unclear if Brian got down on one knee in the pods, he and Kylie had clearly made a connection during their time on the show.
Several fans were shocked that the medical student and Brian’s story didn’t get any airtime.
“I AM SORRY WAIT WHAT?!? Why was this not shown?!? I didn’t want all that drama for them not to be together although I loved [Madison Errichiello] I want the couples!!! Darn it!! Congratulations tho,” one viewer wrote in the comments section.
Another person added, “They could have given us THIS but we got 75 hours of couples who didn’t get engaged?! Congrats Lovebirds.”
Former Love Is Blind star Chelsea Blackwell even offered up her congratulations to the duo by writing, “Truly love this for you.”
Love Is Blind creator Chris Coelen had previously revealed that two other couples got engaged while in the pods, but he didn’t specify who they were.
“We film everything and then we go back and look at how we got there. We put the pieces together,” Chris, 57, told Variety in an article published on Sunday, February 16. “As always, we’re trying to pick the stories that resonate and that we feel are worthy of telling because they lean into authenticity.”
He continued, “We can never make a show to show everything, but showing some of the other stuff that happens in the pods is just incredibly entertaining. I could probably make 30 episodes of pods and it would be fascinating. We told more stories than we’ve ever told. We told the stories of 16 people this season, which is why we have more pod episodes.”
However, some people have complained that two of the most prominent stories seen during Love Is Blind season 8 revolved around four people who ultimately left while still single. Madison, 28, developed connections with both Mason Horacek and Alex Brown. However, Mason, 33, was torn between Madison and fellow costar Meg Fink.
After Madison broke things off with Mason, it seemed as though an engagement to Alex, 28, was imminent, but his response to how Mason reacted to Madison choosing to end things with him rubbed her the wrong way. Plus, even though Mason seemed open to the idea of proposing to Meg, 31, after his split from Madison, she opted to end things with him as well because she didn’t want to feel like she was his second choice.
