Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce continue to get stronger together and the A-list couple has found a “sense of relief” knowing there is downtime in their relationship.
“There’s no way to have a relationship when they’re all over the place with work. It’s going to be easier now to find time to go over plans and make sure everything aligns,” a source told Us Weekly in a story published on Tuesday, February 18, noting that Traylor is looking forward to “laying low.”
Taylor’s 149-show run of the Eras tour concluded on December 8, 2024, almost two months before Travis, 35, and the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Philadelphia Eagles at the 2025 Super Bowl. The Chiefs missed their mark on a three-peat win with the Eagles dominating them with a 40-22 score.
Now that both Travis and Taylor, 35, don’t have “huge commitments coming up,” the outlet’s source continued, “They both want to rest and decompress.”
That said, Travis may possibly have an even longer duration of free time as fans have speculated that he may retire from the NFL. Although the Grotesque star hasn’t confirmed his decision about his future in the league, he has addressed the chatter.
“It’s gonna sting. I know everybody wants to know whether or not I’m playing next year and right now I’m just kicking everything down the road,” he told brother Jason Kelce on the February 12 episode of the “New Heights” podcast. “I’m not making any crazy decisions but right now the biggest thing is just being there for my teammates and being there for my coaches, understanding that a lot that goes into this thing.”
Nonetheless, everyone is happy that Taylor and Travis’ schedules cleared up at the same time.
“I think, you know, once we get past the Super Bowl, I think it’s going to be a very good period of time for the two of them,” Travis’ father, Ed Kelce, said during a February 6 appearance on Australia’s Today. “Without the NFL season, without the Eras tour. Just them alone really connecting more. I think that can only be a good thing.”
Meanwhile, Taylor was already looking forward to the “next chapter to begin with the love of her life” with Travis after she took her final bow and gave out her last “22” hat during the Eras tour finale, a source exclusively told Life & Style in January.
Traylor recently celebrated their second Valentine’s Day together and Travis reportedly went all out with his romantic gestures for the lover’s holiday. According to the US Sun, the Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? host gifted the “Shake It Off” singer a luxury Superb Cartier watch in the shape of cats and a box of Venus et Fleur roses.
“Travis knows that Taylor loves Valentine’s Day, as they both are very romantic and people that enjoy everyday and event that celebrate love and passion,” a source told the outlet in a story published on February 18, claiming that Travis spent an estimated $140,000 on the gifts. “He pays attention to everything she says about items she find cute and nice, he pretty much as a list on his phone where he has notes on things she says and pieces she loves!”
