President Trump said over the weekend his work to “save” the country gives him legal leeway. “He who saves his Country does not violate any Law,” Trump posted Saturday to Truth Social and X. Trump’s post drew quick criticism from Democrats, who argued it was another instance of the president likening his executive authority to authoritarianism.

It looks as if the Trump regime wants us all to die. According to two agency employees who requested anonymity because they weren’t authorized to speak for the agency, the administration is slashing about 1,300 employees, or 10%, of the workforce at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Staff were notified Friday of the cuts. [NPR]
Some federal employees who have been laid off under the Trump administration’s unprecedented plan to slash the federal workforce were reportedly given only 30 minutes to pack their belongings and vacate federal offices. Donald Trump ordered federal agencies to fire mostly probationary staff, with as many as 200,000 workers set to be affected and some made to rush off the premises. [The Guardian]
