Anna Faris has had her world turned upside down after losing her home in the California wildfires, but she’s rebuilding her world with the help of loved ones and friends including ex-husband Chris Pratt and his current spouse, Katherine Schwarzenegger.
“Chris and Anna, to their credit, have been able to put aside the bad feelings around their divorce and have become very supportive coparents to their son Jack after a difficult period about four years ago, when they were both still getting used to the new normal of their broken family,” a source that has known the former couple for years exclusively tells Life & Style. “Things are better now and Chris is stepping up to help Anna during this difficult time as she tries to rebuild her life, and yes, her career too.”
While Chris, 45, and Katherine’s home survived the Los Angeles wildfires, the Parks and Recreation alum previously revealed that Anna, 48, lost her home. “So many people’s houses were burned around us and the community’s gone,” Chris revealed in an Instagram video posted on January 22. “My son’s school is gone. My son’s mom’s house burned down. Dozens of our friends lost their homes. It’s just wild.”
The insider tells Life & Style that Chris and Katherine, 35, are helping Anna as she gets “back to work” and they will be there “to help her rebuild her home, not just for Jack’s sake, but because they are compassionate people and the Palisades means a lot to them too.”
“They had a tough few years there but a tragedy like this puts everything in perspective and Anna has an inner toughness that Chris still respects and admires,” the source concludes. “They’re getting through this together, and they’re not being petty about it.”
Anna and Chris tied the knot in July 2009, and they welcomed Jack, 12, in August 2012. While they seemed to be a strong couple, fans were shocked when Anna and Chris announced their divorce in August 2017.
“Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward,” he wrote in a social media post at the time. “We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.”
Just more than one year later, their divorce was finalized in October 2018.
Anna previously shared a glimpse into her relationship with Chris following their split while appearing on Laura Wasser’s “Divorce Sucks!” podcast in March 2019. “He really is such an amazing person,” she said at the time. “I’m really grateful that we’re so close. And that … I think that we both, I know that we both just want, the best … just happiness.”
Following Chris and Anna’s split, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor found love with Katherine and they tied the knot in 2019. The couple started a family of their own when they welcomed baby No. 1, Lyla Maria, in August 2020. Katherine later gave birth to daughter Eloise Christina in May 2022, followed by son Ford Fitzgerald in November 2024.
