Calling artists and creatives of all levels of skill and experience – hello and happy Sunday! Welcome to my first ever post to ONTD, and the first of a new series of ONTD originals – What We’re Making!
Do you write? Draw? Paint? Cook? Bake? Decorate rooms or gardens? Arrange flowers? Dance? Play music? Knit? Sew? Do ANYTHING creative, in any medium, of any kind? This is the post for you! Feel free to share what you are working on, any creative project of any kind, whether it’s something professional/amateur/hobbyist. You are welcome even if – especially if – you are a beginner!
This will (hopefully) become a safe space for us to share what we are making, and what inspires us, because I think when times are tough and the world seems to be burning, art remains a lifeline for many of us! Not just the consumption of it (eg watching TV, listening to music) but the creation of it as well. I’ve started to get back into drawing, but many creative outlets can be quite solitary or lonely so I hope this can be a space where we can support and advise each other in a gentle and loving way.
I’ll get the ball rolling and share some artwork I’ve made in the past that I am particularly proud of! Two photographs I took and three flower arrangements I made, many years ago now…
