• Fans and journalists noticed two major names missing from any of these pre-show announcements, and it was confirmed earlier this week that they would not be attending the event. Original cast member and creator of the “glue guy” cast member mold, Dan Aykroyd “could not come”, though he is tweeting up a storm celebrating the milestone. And 2000s/2010s legend, Bill Hader was a “polite decline” due to a “longstanding schedule conflict.” Hader did manage to celebrate the 50th by reprising his “The Californians” character in a commercial with fellow cast mates Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen (there are bloopers too).
