Scott Disick is talking about taking a break from the dating scene, as is Khloé Kardashian, but plenty of people close to the longtime BFFs believe they’d be a great match together – and Kris Jenner is one of them.
“It might be a bit of an eye roll for some people, but Kris would encourage it,” a source close to a family member exclusively tells Life & Style. “They obviously have chemistry and a special relationship, so this isn’t coming out of nowhere.”
While the prospect may seem crazy to fans familiar given the years of family drama between Scott, 41, Khloé, 40, and Kourtney Kardashian. Kourtney, 45, Khloé’s older sister, dated Scott on and off for about 10 years before calling it quits for good over allegations of infidelity in 2015. The couple even share three children together – Mason, 15, Penelope, 12, and Reign, 10.
“Scott and I, we’re going to be in each other’s lives forever. We are soulmates, in a sense. No matter what, whether we’re ever together or not,” Kourtney had said on an episode of the family’s previous show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
Though, since splitting with Kourtney, Scott has matured, kind of. During an appearance with Khloé on her podcast “Khloé in Wonder Land” on January 8, he said, “My last relationship was good, but we were in different places, in different times in our lives … We know I tend to date a little younger than I should.” Scott then added that he doesn’t plan on continuing this trend, despite a string of younger girlfriends in the past including Chloe Bartoli, Bella Thorne, Bella Banos, Ella Ross, Megan Blake Irwin, Christine Burke, Sofia Richie, Amelia Hamlin, Kimberly Stewart and Rebecca Donaldson, while also explaining he doesn’t want his kids to get attached to anyone if it’s not a serious relationship.
There is chemistry between Khloé and Scott, though it’s difficult to tell if they just get along well after nearly two decades of knowing each other or if there has always been a bit of a spark. The source adds, “Kris would never pressure them to get together, but she’s openly made it known that if they ever want to give it a shot, they will have her full support.”
“Khloé scoffs at the idea and swears it would never happen, but she also flirts with Scott, so it’s very mixed messages.” Khloé herself has sworn off dating for a while, with many speculating she’s still holding out hope for baby daddy Tristan Thompson to come back around romantically, despite the two building a pretty effective coparenting relationship.
The insider notes that, “Scott is extremely protective of Khloé, if anyone says a word against her he’s ready to do battle and he is also very flirtatious with her, whatever they have going on it’s very far from the typical relationship an ex-sister-and-brother-in-law have.”
“There are plenty of times that are way too close for comfort, so as much as they might deny having any attraction, most people don’t buy it, including Kris.”
