Charli xcx opened up about the many stars who she worked with while promoting her new album Brat and her plans for the upcoming Grammy Awards.

The 32-year-old “360″ pop star rolled out her collection of club anthems last year and then proceeded to promote it with a series of collaborations with the likes of Ariana Grande, Troye Sivan, Billie Eilish, Lorde and more.

Her worked earned her eight Grammy nods, and she’ll take the stage as a performer during the Biggest Night in Music.

In a new interview, Charli teased her other plans for the night. She also shared what drew her to her various Brat collaborators.

Speaking to W Magazine, Charli noted that her collaborators “make completely different works.” However, they are all united by “this general atmosphere, this tone.”

“They have this defiance to them. The connective tissue that makes them all work together is a je ne sais quoi. It’s just this thing that they have that’s undeniably unique to them,” she explained.

The hitmaker had more to say about Lorde, who recorded a duet version of “Girl, so confusing” with Charli after years of feud rumors.

“It brought us so much closer together,” Charli shared. “People are people, and people are tricky sometimes, and relationships are confusing. There are so many different colors to the spectrum of friendship. To actually come out and talk about that was really powerful for both of us, especially since everything is so quick to be dramatized and twisted into something that it is not. She just wanted to go there. She had no ego.”

Regarding the breathtaking success of Brat, Charli is happy to see it coming, but it wasn’t her intention.

“I wasn’t thinking that it would be very successful at all, despite believing in the music massively. I was making it for myself. To please everybody is sort of pointless,” she said.

Despite that, she’s nabbed all the Grammy nods. How will she spend her night? Simply put, she’ll be celebrating.

“My dream scenario would be getting a plus-10 so I could bring all my best friends, but, realistically, I’ll probably get a plus-one,” she said. “Maybe Troye and I can share and make it a plus-two.”

Charli said that was simply her personality.

“My vibe is just wanting to have a good time,” she explained. “Let’s be real, I wasn’t even on the Grammys’ radar last year, so it’s not something I ever expected. The thing is, wherever I am becomes fun anyway, so I’m sure I’ll figure it out.”

In an interview last month, Charli had even more to say about her collaborators.
