Smallville and Lucifer actor Tom Welling was taken into custody on allegations of operating a vehicle while intoxicated in the northern region of California during the weekend.
TMZ reported that law enforcement in Yreka apprehended Welling shortly after midnight Sunday (Jan. 26, 2025) in an Arby’s parking lot, with his subsequent processing at the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office occurring around 2 a.m. Law enforcement officials confirmed Welling’s blood alcohol concentration measured at least 0.08 percent.
The 47-year-old performer was discharged approximately five hours later, at roughly 7 a.m., pending an upcoming judicial proceeding. His court appearance is set for March 11 in the afternoon.
On Sunday, Welling shared a birthday message for his spouse Jessica Rose Lee Welling on Instagram, writing, “Happy Birthday to our Angel who makes our dreams come true and inspires us even more! We love you to the moon and back!”
The couple exchanged vows in 2019 following a six-year courtship and are parents to two children. Welling’s previous marriage to Jamie White ended when she initiated divorce proceedings in 2013.
Welling embodied the role of Clark Kent, alternatively known as Superman, throughout 10 seasons of the CW series Smallville and currently co-hosts a series rewatch podcast Talk Ville alongside Michael Rosenbaum, who portrayed Lex Luthor. In 2022, Welling participated in a New York Comic Con panel reunion with fellow cast members Erica Durance, Kristin Kreuk, and John Glover.
