Over the last few years, Hyatt has been on a quest to revolutionize all-inclusive resorts — starting with bolstering its own all-inclusive portfolio by acquiring Apple Leisure Group in 2021 to add over 100 properties to the mix. Since that $2.7 billion takeover, Hyatt has finalized another deal with an all-inclusive resort company and launched new all-inclusive brands, such as the luxury Impression by Secrets brand and the lifestyle-forward Hyatt Vivid brand.
Now, Hyatt Vivid is gaining momentum with the announcement of the brand’s second resort, which will open in the Dominican Republic by the end of 2025.
Following the launch of the first-ever Hyatt Vivid in Mexico, Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana will continue with the brand’s experiential take on all-inclusive resorts.
“The resort will feature locally inspired itineraries, experiential-driven programming and amenities that appeal to a modern, diverse set of guests seeking aesthetics-inspired resorts,” Hyatt said in a statement about the project being developed by Anacaona de Inversiones.
The resort’s main focus is on “living well” and will include amenities like a spa, indoor and outdoor gyms, a healthy snack and juice bar, and pickleball and tennis courts. Living well, at least by Hyatt Vivid’s standards, also includes a heavy emphasis on the lifestyle elements that travelers want, like a sports bar and a speakeasy-style jazz club, in addition to other bars and restaurants.
In a departure from the original Hyatt Vivid Grand Island in Cancun, Mexico, the first Dominican Republic location will also have a convention center with space for up to 1,000 people.

“We are pleased to further strengthen the Hyatt Vivid Hotels & Resorts brand portfolio with Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana,” Antonio Fungairino, Hyatt’s head of development for the Inclusive Collection, said in a statement. “Hyatt’s continued brand expansion in the region, from the sought-after beach towns of Playa Esmeralda, Punta Cana, Cap Cana, and beyond, reinforces the Dominican Republic’s status as a premier destination for high-end hospitality, while reinforcing Hyatt’s leadership in the all-inclusive segment.”
Beyond the upcoming Hyatt Vivid outpost, Hyatt is growing its presence in the popular vacation destination with the opening of a handful of new resorts and hotels, including two highly anticipated all-inclusive properties, Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa and Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa, as well as Secrets Tides Punta Cana and a Hyatt Centric in the city of Santo Domingo.
