Drew Barrymore and Steven Spielberg reunited over the weekend!
The 49-year-old actress and 78-year-old director attended the TCM Classic Film Festival: New York Pop-Up panel on Saturday (January 25) in New York City. There, they discussed their hit film they made together, 1982’s E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
Drew was 7 at the time she made the film, and it launched her into stardom.
“I think E.T., for me, is the one I’m the most proud of because it’s the one that changed my life,” Drew said during the panel. “There’s no question about that. Everything in my life is about how I got believed in by one human being, and that is the life that I try to honor every day.”
Steven shared, “Up until that point — ’81, ’82 — I was just making movies. That was my life. I was obsessed with telling stories, but making E.T. made me want to be a father for the first time. I never even thought about that until E.T.”
Drew previously opened up about what she told Steven when she met him for the first time at age 6.
