A group of Mexicans responded to Emilia Pérez by creating a short film titled Johanne Sacrebleu—a French-inspired film on France, made entirely without a French cast or crew.

The idea to make a tongue in cheek response musical full of French stereotypes started as a joke online but quickly gained traction among Mexican social media users, who organized themselves to create the short film as a counterpart to Emilia Pérez, film that tries to depict Mexican societal problems but failed by including no nuance, knowledge or investigation on the subject.

The movie was created by Mexican trans woman, Camila aurora, through crowdfunding, and it tells the story of a trans woman, heiress to the biggest baguette producer, who falls in love with Agtugo Ratatouille, trans heir to the biggest croissant company in France.
