Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Bronwyn Newport caused quite a stir when she revealed her husband, Todd Bradley, gifted her a stunning $4 million necklace. Lisa Barlow quickly called her out for the expensive purchase and claimed the jeweler told her that neither Todd nor Bronwyn ever purchased anything — including the necklace.
Did ‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ Star Bronwyn Buy the Necklace?
The 170-carat necklace, which was regarded as one of the most lavish gifts to be seen on the show, became a major point of contention during season 5. During part 1 of the season 5 reunion, which aired on January 22, 2025, Bronwyn claimed there were “questions” about whether she was still in possession of the necklace.
She told the group that instead of taking home the $4 million necklace, she purchased stud earrings, hoop earrings and a “smaller version” of the lavish necklace.
Lisa slammed her costar and said she was “friends with Emma,” who was allegedly connected to the jeweler, and said she reported that Bronwyn didn’t make any purchases.
“She said you guys didn’t buy it or the hoop earrings or the rings or the necklace. She said nothing was purchased,” she said, to which Bronwyn replied, “It’s very weird a jeweler would tell someone else what I did or didn’t buy.”
Lisa explained that Emma met Bronwyn at a party at her home and texted her “out of the blue” about the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star “never” buying the necklace.
RHOSLC’s Bronwyn Newport Reveals Why She Returned $4 Million Necklace
During a January 23, 2025, appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Bronwyn was asked by host Andy Cohen about the jewelry situation with her costar.
Bronwyn said she’d spoken to the jeweler since the messy reunion and said she had her own receipts about the situation.
“The jeweler and I had been talking even like a day or two before the reunion about what they were making for me. The jeweler had made a little accusation that a journalist that she thought was Lisa was texting her,” she explained. “So, I think you see in the reunion, as Lisa’s bringing this up that I’m kind of confused. Like, did the jeweler’s person reach out to Lisa? Did Lisa reach out to them? Either way, it’s real messy. I don’t like it.”
Andy asked Bronwyn about her conversations with her jeweler, and she explained that she had told them her husband felt the necklace was “far too flashy to wear.”
“There’s some things that I felt on camera, it’s just inappropriate to buy something, in any economic climate, but in especially what we’re going through right now,” she explained. “I really wanted to be promoting the jeweler and helping them, up until I heard what was going on at the reunion. And then no, I have not bought anything from them and will not.”
She said she didn’t end up purchasing the $4 million necklace nor the smaller version designed by the jeweler as a result of the situation.
