Demi Moore has not given up on finding a long-term partner and she’s going into 2025 with plenty of optimism, but she could use a little less pressure from friends and family who won’t stop trying to set her up, a source exclusively tells Life & Style.
“Demi understands that they’re only trying to help, but it does get a bit annoying to constantly have people giving her the gears over being single,” the insider says. “She genuinely loves her life and is very happy, she doesn’t see why she needs a man to make her fulfilled.”
The Ghost actress, 62, has had a string of extremely high-profile relationships during her decades in Hollywood. She shares three children with ex-husband Bruce Willis and was most recently married to Ashton Kutcher, 15 years her junior, before divorcing the That ‘70s Show alum in 2011. She was last confirmed to be dating Swiss chef Daniel Humm, but that relationship fizzled without much drama.
Speaking about being single, Demi told The Jess Cagle Show, “It’s a process of learning to love yourself.”
“Accepting who you are just as you are. For me, I had changed myself so many times over and over to fit what I thought somebody else wanted,” she continued, adding, “It’s that idea that we’re kinda conditioned to work toward being desired, but we’re not supposed to have desires of our own. It really is commendable in our disposal times to go through the journey of really honoring the love that brought you together in the first place and to really give it everything you’ve got. But you can’t do that without that love and acceptance of yourself.”
The self-care sentiment was repeated by the first insider, who says Demi’s current singlehood is in no way a a signal that “she’s dead inside.”
“She absolutely wants to find love again and is very open to it,” the source adds, “and she actually does occasionally have hookups, she simply hasn’t met anyone she wants to get serious with.”
“For her to want to make a man a big part of her life they have to completely knock her socks off. She’s got no interest in settling for average because she truly doesn’t feel like she needs anything,” the insider continues, “but she also fully believes that it will happen, when the time is right. In the meantime, she’s not stressing, she’s going about her life and enjoy the heck out of it.”
Demi even joked about being single on a September 2024 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, telling the titular host her passion for her nine dogs makes her a bit “eccentric.”
“If anybody saw my nighttime routine, if it was filmed, they would really see how eccentric I really am,” she joked before adding, “Hence why I’m single.”
Kidding aside, the insider says Demi knows “love comes when you least expect it, as they say, and that’s her intention with dating. No expectations, she’s open to what is meant for her and has faith it will find her.”
