Make of this rumor from World of Reel what you will, but the website is reporting that Netflix is scheduling additional filming for “The Old Guard 2” in early summer 2025, which would mean that this movie might not come out in 2025 after having otherwise finished filming in summer 2022. An ONTD favorite, 2020’s “The Old Guard” followed a band of immortal mercenaries as they learn about the existence of a new immortal and deal with a pharma bro trying to capture them and learn the secrets to their immortality. “The Old Guard 2” is now rumored to have a budget of $140 million. “The Old Guard 2” – if it ever is released at this point, who fucking knows anymore, excuse my anger – stars Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, and Matthias Schoenaerts, with new additions Uma Thurman and Henry Golding (and Chiwetel Ejiofor and Veronica Ngô return, as well).
