Robbie Williams continues to have issues connecting with an audience in North America, as his biopic Better Man flopped with only $1 million from 1,291 screens. Meanwhile, the epic length film The Brutalist pulled in $1.38 million on just 68 screens.
The winner of the weekend was Lionsgate Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, which pulled in $15.2 million. Mufasa came in second with $13.5 million, while Sonic the Hedgehog 3 followed with $11 million.
Nosferatu dropped to fourth place with $6.8 million, while Moana 2 came in fifth with $6.5 million.
The weekend overall was down 28% from last year, which is partly due to the lack of new releases, but almost certainly also in part due to the Los Angeles fires, which suppressed moviegoing in one of the largest cities in the country.
