Hacks star Jean Smart has urged networks to forgo airing upcoming Hollywood awards shows and donate to the victims of the L.A. wildfires and firefighters.
“With ALL due respect, during Hollywood’s season of celebration, I hope any of the networks televising the upcoming awards will seriously consider NOT televising them and donating the revenue they would have garnered to victims of the fires and the firefighters,” the actress wrote on her Instagram account.
She didn’t name specific awards shows or dollar amounts. Among the big upcoming awards shows, though, are the Screen Actors Guild Awards, which are set to stream on Netflix on Sunday, Feb. 23, and the Academy Awards, set to air on ABC on Sunday, March 2.
