Dramione and Drarry, always super popular non-canon pairings also land in the top 10, but surprisingly enough a new crackship enters the arena.
• Yes, people are shipping James Potter and Regulus Black. The Marauders fandom continues to thrive on TikTok, which leads to other random crackships like Barty Crouch Jr./random named Death Eater, and two characters only mentioned in passing in canon (Marlene McKinnon/Dorcas Meadows) all landing within the top 40 ships.
• Shows with no new seasons this year slipped down the list. The Good Omens “Ineffable Husbands” pairing dropped down two spots from their previous number 1 position, the only Stranger Things pairing on the list, Steve Harrington and Eddie Munson, slip all the way down to number 10 this year after landing at number 3 last year. Our Flag Means Death ship Edward Teach/Stede Bonnet drops an astonishing 18 spots from their number 10 showing last year.
• We’ve got new fandoms showing up for the first time, including pairings from Hazbin Hotel, League of Legends, Bridgerton, Agatha All Along, Deadpool vs Wolverine, and Interview with The Vampire.
• The most surprising jump? After one of its characters was confirmed to be queer in canon, 911‘s premiere ship Buddie jumped eleven stops to number 2 on this list. That moment was enough to catapult two ships involving a 911 character in the top 15. Buck/Tommy debuted at number 12.
