Travis Kelce was the mastermind behind Taylor Swift’s epic Eras-themed party. JoJo Edwards-Helaire, the wife of Travis’ former teammate Clyde Edwards-Helaire, gave some insight into the reason for the party.
In response to a TikTok comment that pointed out that the bash “[looked] like a wrap party” for the Eras tour, JoJo, 26, wrote, “It was, a congratulations party. And a surprise from Trav.”
Brittany Mahomes was the first to share photos from the party on Wednesday, December 18. The images featured her and the other guests wearing outfits inspired by the Eras tour. For instance, Brittany, 29, rocked a silver fringe dress reminiscent of the Fearless era, along with a jacket that resembled what Taylor, 35, wore while performing “Karma.” Her husband, Patrick Mahomes, dressed as Travis, 35, when he popped up on stage for a cameo at one of Taylor’s London shows in August.
Travis also wore his “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” cameo look, as seen in photos shared by his pal Ross Travis. “Epic night for an epic run,” Ross captioned his Instagram post from the party. Taylor’s ensemble was on full display in one of his pics. The “Cruel Summer” singer rocked a black halter dress and black heels.
It’s unclear when the party took place, but it seemingly coincided with Taylor’s recent birthday on December 13. She kept a low profile on the big day and did not post on social media for the occasion like she has in past years.
One day before turning 35, Taylor visited a children’s hospital in Kansas City and spent time with various patients. The local community praised her for spending her time giving back, especially since the visit took place just days after she wrapped her tour in Vancouver on December 8.
Travis was unable to attend the final show since he had a football game that same night, but he’s been the ultimate Eras tour supporter amid his relationship with Taylor. After flying to South America, Australia, Asia and Europe for shows, he made his last appearance in the crowd at the November 2 concert in Indianapolis. Since the Chiefs didn’t have a game until Monday that week, he was able to spend his night off cheering on his girl.
“Shout-out to everybody that was a part of that show,” Travis said on the December 11 episode of the “New Heights” podcast. “Obviously, it’s [Taylor’s] music, her tour and everything, but that was a full production, man. That thing was the best tour in the world because of a lot of people, but mostly because of Taylor.”
The Eras tour lasted nearly two years and sold over $2 billion in tickets. More than 10 million people attended the 149 shows that Taylor performed across five continents.
“This tour has been the adventure of a lifetime,” Taylor said at the final show. “I speak on behalf of my band … my fellow performers who all left their families and have spent time away from everything that they know and love and have performed when they were sick. When anything was going on in their lives, they made sure that this show comes through [for] you and I just wanted to say that on behalf of all of us, we will never forget you giving us that moment.”
