Sydney Sweeney isn’t letting the recent body-shamers get to her! The White Lotus alum posed braless on a rooftop and showed off her amazing figure.
“Rain rain go away,” Sydney, 27, wrote alongside the snaps on her Instagram page on Wednesday, December 18.
The actress wore baggy jeans and a brown and cream colored cardigan in the pics, but she decided to forgo a shirt underneath the sweater.
Sydney was recently the target of rude comments from critics after photos of her wearing a bikini went viral. Hundreds of social media users felt the need to voice their opinion about the Euphoria star’s looks after a news article shared the photos. However, Sydney seemingly took the criticism in stride. She clapped back by posting screenshots of some of the meanest comments in a montage video on December 14.
“She is extraordinarily average, which is why she always makes sure her chest is the first thing to enter any room,” wrote one person.
Another added, “She’s not really attractive. Not sure why she’s so popular. I had a better body at 37 before I got pregnant with my youngest.”
A third person chimed in and said, “Body is not the least bit incredible. She is certainly not attractive either. Maybe a four on a one to 10 scale.”
At the end of the clip, the Immaculate star shared photos of herself as she trained for her role as Christy Martin, a professional boxer, in an upcoming biopic about the athlete. Sydney had plenty of support in the comments, though, including her Anyone But You costar Glen Powell and more.
“You’re such a badass. This movie is gonna be [fire emoji],” wrote Glen, 36.
Former Riverdale star Lili Reinhart praised Sydney, as well, and said, “It’s always wild to see people publicly out-themselves as pieces of s–t with comments like that. You look incredible and your dedication to your project is very inspiring.”
“Your Love Is My Drug” singer Kesha wrote, “Strong baddie.”
Sydney has been training for her role as Christy, 56, for months. The boxer survived being shot and stabbed by her abusive husband, and Sydney gave fans their first look at the movie in October.
“Well the cats out of the bag thanks to some paps in bushes so here’s a little bts from my film im working on right now. over the past few months, i’ve been immersed in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman—a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring,” Sydney wrote alongside some photos of herself in the role. “Her journey is a testament to resilience, strength, and hope, and I’m honored to step into her shoes to share her powerful story with you all. more to come soon.”
The upcoming biopic isn’t the only film Sydney has in the works. She’s also been tapped for the part of Millie in the movie adaptation of Freida McFadden’s best-selling novel The Housemaid.
The book is described as “an unbelievably twisty read that will have you glued to the pages late into the night. Anyone who loves The Woman in the Window, The Wife Between Us and The Girl on the Train won’t be able to put this down!”
