Travis Kelce had nothing but praise for girlfriend Taylor Swift after her Eras tour ended. Although the NFL star couldn’t be at Taylor’s final show in Vancouver on Sunday, December 8, he discussed the achievement on the Wednesday, December 11, episode of his “New Heights” podcast.
“Shout-out to Tay and the unbelievable Eras tour [that] has finally come to an end,” Travis, 35, said, referring to the record-breaking tour that sold over $2 billion in tickets. When Jason Kelce asked his brother to clarify how long the tour had been going on, Travis responded, “Almost two years,” noting that it began in March 2023.
“[It was] 149 or 152 shows. I forget which one it was,” Travis added. “Somewhere in there. A f–k ton is how I sum it up.” The Kansas City Chiefs tight end pointed out the incredible statistic that over “10 million people” went to the Eras tour, which he called “absolutely insane.”
“Shout-out to everybody that was a part of that show,” Travis gushed. “Obviously, it’s her music, her tour and everything, but that was a full production, man. That thing was the best tour in the world because of a lot of people, but mostly because of Taylor.”
Taylor, 34, first caught Travis’ eye when he attended the Eras tour in July 2023. Unfortunately, he didn’t get to meet her or give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it like he’d hoped to at the show. However, he made sure to give her a shout-out on the “New Heights” podcast later that month, which set things in motion.
After quietly hanging out for nearly two months, Travis and Taylor went public as a couple in September 2023 when she attended her first Chiefs game. That November, Travis traveled to South America to attend his first Eras tour show as Taylor’s boyfriend. He went on to see shows in Asia, Australia and Europe before making it to one final U.S. concert on November 2 in Indianapolis.
The “Cruel Summer” singer was quite emotional on the closing night of tour. “We have had so many adventures,” she told the crowd at the beginning of the show. “It has been the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense, most challenging thing I’ve ever done in my entire life. We’ve gotten to perform for over 10 million people on this tour. And tonight, we get to play one last show for you tonight here in beautiful Vancouver. We’re going to make it count.”
Later in the show, she referred to the Eras tour as the “adventure of a lifetime,” adding, “I speak on behalf of my band … my fellow performers who all left their families and have spent time away from everything that they know and love and have performed when they were sick. When anything was going on in their lives, they made sure that this show came through [for] you and I just wanted to say that on behalf of all of us, we will never forget you giving us that moment.”
To close the show, she said, “I want to thank every single one of you for being a part of the most thrilling chapter of my life. My beloved Eras tour.”
