Influencer Dominique Brown died on December 5 at an BoxLunch event due to a severe allergic reaction. She was 34.
Dominique was a popular Disney based influencer. Brown and Mia Von created BlackGirlDisney in 2018, a community for BIPOC Disney fans and influencers.
News of her death spread on social media. Multiple influencers took to Twitter and other platforms to say that the event hosts were informed of her allergy. Allegedly, others at the event said that when Brown asked to go to the ER, her request was delayed and the organizers asked her to pose for photos instead.
This woman, Dominique, had an allergic reaction at the Box Lunch Collective media event. From what I’ve heard it was a food allergy and the food wasn’t marked. pic.twitter.com/eIjO9AFCXf

She was my moms best friend of 10 years. She asked if there was peanuts in the food and everyone told her no. When she instantly felt bad she asked someone to take her to the hospital, everyone said no and to take pictures first. So sad.

Dominique has been trending on various platforms, with users calling for a boycott of BoxLunch and others to be held accountable.
BoxLunch sent this statement to US Weekly but they haven’t posted on their socials yet.
“We are devastated by the passing of Dominique Brown, a beloved member of the BoxLunch Collective, who suffered a medical emergency at an event hosted by BoxLunch Thursday in Los Angeles.
Our hearts go out to her family and friends, and we will do everything we can to support them and the members of the BoxLunch Collective and our team during this painful time.”
