Love Is Blind star Leo Braudy clarified who paid the bills when he and ex Brittany Wisniewski took their trip to Miami after leaving the pods.
“It’s kind of underwhelming — but I’ll say this about Miami because I’ve seen a lot of people saying, ‘Britney just wanted a free trip’ … ‘Oh, Leo has money. She just wanted a free trip to Miami.’ I’ve seen that in the comments,” Leo, 31, said while appearing at Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” live show in New York City on Monday, December 2. “If that’s what she wanted, she didn’t get it.”
During their time on season 7 of the Netflix show, Leo made several comments about his wealthy lifestyle. Meanwhile, Brittany, 33, often explained that she had been treated to a lavish lifestyle funded by the men she dated.
Leo insisted that they “both really wanted to go to Miami together” after getting engaged, and he said that they “split” the cost of many things “fairly.”
“We stayed in a hotel, we hung on the beach all day and then we just realized that there’s a huge difference between getting engaged on the show and getting married,” he recalled of the trip, which took place after they weren’t invited to continue filming the show with the rest of the stars in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.
During their trip, Leo said that they had “a lot of long conversations about” their relationship and “realized that we were better as friends.” He added that they are “super good friends” and “talk all the time.”
Brittany also shared her side of the split while speaking to People in October. “Although we had an amazing time, we just decided that we didn’t see ourselves really proceeding with a full engagement leading to marriage and we’re just better off as friends,” she told the outlet.
She then added that “the physical connection just simply wasn’t there.”
“It was a very clean, respectful realization,” Brittany continued of their split. “He’s just not my person.”
Brittany also reflected on the show’s decision to not have them continue their journey in Mexico, and she admitted that she understood their reasoning.
“I was definitely disappointed because you build such a strong relationship with everyone on the show, all the girls, so of course not filming and being with them and having fun was something to be sad about,” she said. “But I knew we were the weakest link. Let’s just be honest, I was the only one that didn’t say, ‘I love you’ back to the person I was engaged to, so I was not surprised.”
Following her split from Leo, Brittany sparked romance rumors with Mod Sun in November when they were spotted packing on the PDA during an outing in Los Angeles.
The pair appeared to be in good spirits as they danced and kissed, according to footage obtained by TMZ. Mod, 37, and Brittany were also seen passionately kissing as “You’re The One That I Want” from Grease played at the venue.
