Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola enlisted the help of Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio to play an epic prank on their Jersey Shore roommates. Sammi and her fiancé, Justin May, decided they wanted to share their engagement news with the rest of the cast in an over-the-top way, as seen in a preview for the Thursday, December 5, episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation exclusively obtained by Life & Style.

“How are we going to do this big reveal and tell everybody that we’re engaged?” Sammi, 37, asked Justin, 36, as they spent time in their hotel room on a cast trip to Florida. She added that she wanted to “make a big thing” out of it and Justin suggested asking Pauly, 44, for some tips.

“I’ve been waiting a very long time to pull a prank on everybody,” Sammi admitted. “Ever since that freakin’ alien prank, it’s due time that I pull a prank on everybody else.”

Sammi and Justin called Pauly to their room and asked him, “Are you in for a prank?” He jokingly hesitated before responding, “Does a bear s–t in the woods?” Sammi then put her engagement ring on and told Pauly her exciting news, which resulted in a moment for celebration before getting down to business.

“Now we’re like … how can we do this big reveal?” Sammi explained. “We’re kind of looking for your help. We don’t want the roommates to know. We kind of want to reveal it maybe tonight at dinner.”

Pauly quickly came up with the idea of telling the roommates that Justin needed their help because he was planning a proposal. “I’ll be like, ‘911 guys, meet me in the suite,’ and I’ll break the news, like, ‘Justin needs our help, he’s going to be planning this amazing proposal. I’m talking fireworks, cake. We need a whole area set up for this thing,’” the DJ added. “So it looks legit. And I want them to go to work, go to town all day.”

In a confessional, he explained, “It’s a good prank to send anybody on a wild goose chase. They think they’re helping me out, they think they’re helping Justin out in this proposal. I give everybody else the hard jobs and I get to relax. They think Sammi’s not in on it … but she is.”

Although Sammi admitted she was going to “feel so bad” afterward, she was excited to see how the prank would play out. The aftermath will be featured on the Thursday, December 5, episode of Jersey Shore, which airs at 8 p.m. ET on MTV.

Sammi and Justin got engaged in March after privately suffering a heartbreaking pregnancy loss. They didn’t share their engagement news until weeks later and Sammi didn’t open up about her pregnancy journey until this season of Jersey Shore premiered in September. She secretly went through IVF while filming the show earlier this year.

“[Justin] is so supportive through the whole thing,” Sammi told E! News in November. “He’s very positive. He keeps me going and he couldn’t be a better partner with this all. He’s just amazing.”
