As Jersey Shore approaches its milestone 15th anniversary, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino exclusively tell Life & Style what they think of Sammi Giancola‘s fiancé, Justin May, and if he’s integrated himself into the cast.
“We love Justin. Justin is a meatball. Justin is such a good time. He’s great for Sam,” Nicole, 37, gushes. “He fits in right along with us.”
As for how Justin interacted with Sammi’s ex and costar Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Nicole adds, “Yes, he has met Ron. And yeah, everything is just normal and fun.”
Mike, 42, was also impressed by Justin’s ability to adapt to being part of the Jersey Shore cast.
“It’s not easy to jump in and integrate yourselves in this group. You know we’ve been doing this for almost 15 years,” he explains.
“He’s done an amazing job. He has a great sense of humor. He’s so loving and supporting of Sam, and that’s all we want for them,” Mike adds about Justin and Sammi, 37.
The Sitch also hints that a wedding is on the way soon.
“So, we’re very excited for the new seasons. And you know, I don’t want to give a preview or a spoiler alert, but it looks like they’re gonna be walking down the aisle shortly,” Mike confesses.
Sammi announced her engagement to Justin in an April Instagram post, writing, “Fiancé,” in the caption of photos of the couple while she rocked her new diamond ring. She shared that Justin popped the question on March 16, calling it, “The easiest question I’ve ever answered … happiest & luckiest girl in the world. I’ll love you forever and then some. Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Sammi and Justin began dating in the summer of 2021 and made their romance Instagram official in November of that year.
Sammi and Ronnie, 38, were still a couple when Jersey Shore ended in 2012. They broke up for good in 2014.
Snooki admits she was a little nervous at first with Justin joining the cast after Sammi’s history with Ronnie.
“I mean, it was definitely a little awkward. We didn’t know what to expect, but also, we know that it’s been like literally 10 years, even more since they dated, and Sam’s in a committed relationship, getting married to the love of her life and Ron is, you know, working on himself,” she explains.
Nicole reveals these days Ronnie is focused on “trying to be the best dad and all that stuff.” He and ex-girlfriend Jen Harley welcomed their only child, daughter Ariana Sky Magro, in April 2018.
While Nicole said the cast “knew it was going to be a little awkward” with Sammi returning to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation in a committed romance in 2023, “we weren’t worried that there was going to be drama.”
She admits that when fans watch the upcoming season’s interaction between the former couple, “It’s like nothing. It’s like they’re looking at each other. They’re saying, ‘Hi!’ It’s fine now.”
Ronnie returned for MTV’s reboot, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, in 2018, while Sammi made her return in season 6B of the show. Their first interaction came during a cast trip to Nashville, Tennessee, in the April 11 episode.
Mike says it’s “just amazing” that the original crew is back. “I like to see how things sort of play out and even in the new season, there’s a ton of growth in all areas. So, I’m very excited for the fans to see it,” he gushes.
