For those who didn’t watch the show and/or subsequent Netflix documentary, Dream Academy was a survival show hosted by HYBE x Geffen. Intended to create a “gobal girl group”, HYBE x Geffen recruited 20 girls from around the world and put them through months of physically and psychologically demanding training capped off by a surprise survival show. Of the twenty trainees/contestants, only six would go on to debut as KATSEYE.
For those of you wondering who Adéla is, she was one of the fourteen trainees who did not make it into KATSEYE and one of the first to be eliminated from the Dream Academy competition. Her elimination shocked the rest of the trainees, as Adéla was considered one of the “star” trainees in the program and had dedicated a lot of her time to helping the others prepare their performances. Tensions further escalated when another trainee who had been missing practices not only survived but landed at the near-top of the same rankings. It was a whole mess (and continues to be) for reasons I won’t get into in this post.
This showed up on my YouTube homepage today, so I figured I’d make a post. It’s the second song she’s released, with the first being “HOMEWRECKED”. The dance performance for “HOMEWRECKED” (featuring fellow Dream Academy trainee Emily Kelavos, who also choreographed the dance) is under the cut.
