Ashlyn Harris asked ex Ali Krieger for an “open marriage” in a desperate attempt to save their relationship before calling it quits. “I started trying all these things, like, let’s do an open marriage. That was like, my last attempt of, you know, if I’m not getting what I want and we want to keep this together.”
Harris, however, quickly realized the idea of a polyamorous relationship wasn’t what she wanted.
“I’m like, that’s just not even me, dude,”
Harris got very good at disassociating from her relationship and her ability to sit and suffer for the sake of other people helped her stay in her marriage for as long as she did.
Harris alleged that she and Krieger weren’t intimate the entire part of their union
“I felt so embarrassed and I felt so much shame that I didn’t know how to tell people that, like, oh, ‘My wife doesn’t want to touch me or doesn’t want to be intimate or doesn’t want this,’ I just felt like I wasn’t a priority. I didn’t feel that sense of connection, whether emotional or physical. It was soccer, job, kids, and then somewhere down the line it was like, ‘OK, what about me?’”
Harris furthered that the lack of love she felt from Krieger led to their relationship ending in 2023, despite rumors that she cheated on her ex with now girlfriend Sophia Bush.
“I’m constantly pegged as a cheater, which that is so far from the truth and she knows it. And it torched me.”
