-Selena had asked him to go to dinner, but he had a prior engagement with his friends and told her to come and then’ll go together for dinner which happened, but the gag is that Benny didn’t realize it was a date! He only realized cause Selena said “I would’ve worn something different to this date”. They hung out again 2 days later and that’s when he figured she must like him and kissed her not long after.
