Poorna Jagannathan is the latest actor to be cast in the Lanterns series!
The 51-year-old Never Have I Ever actress will make her comic book project debut in the upcoming DCU television show, THR reports.
“At least one aunty is heading to DC 💅 💚 ✌️ @dcofficial #DCcomics #Lanterns @hbo,” Poorna shared on Instagram.

According to THR, Poorna has been cast as Zoe, “an effortlessly confident and poised woman in any setting, and as composed and cunning as the influential men around her.”
Deadline reports that Zoe is rumored to be a love interest for John Stewart.
She will have a recurring part in the series, which will star Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler in the leading roles of John Stewart and Hal Jordan, respectively.
Also in the cast are Kelly Macdonald and Garret Dillahunt.
Lanterns “follows new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.”
Of the series, James Gunn previously called the project “a big premiere HBO television series,” noting that “a few other lanterns” will be making appearances in the “terrestrial based TV Show.”
He adds that it is “almost like True Detective, with a couple of Green Lanterns who are space cops watching over Precinct Earth. In it, they discover a terrifying mystery that ties into our largest story of the DCU.”
