Christina Haack (formerly known as Christina Hall) is back on HGTV with a new season of Christina in the Country. Season 2 premiered on Tuesday, November 12, with some new projects for the real estate investor to sink her teeth into.

At the start of the episode, Christina, 41, met with her new clients, Janet and Anthony, who were looking to remodel their home after becoming empty nesters.

“We need Christina to renovate our house because it just does not work for us,” Janet said.

“We have 10 kids. I have six. Janet has four. We’re a blended family,” Anthony said, to which Janet replied, “It’s only us here now. So we need it to be more functional for just us two.”

Christina was excited to renovate the home, which was built in 1999. But the project didn’t go off without a hitch. During the renovation, Christina got a call from her contractor telling her that the subfloor in the kitchen was rotted out. Christina explained that there was a “very tight budget” and she worried that replacing the floor would be “very expensive.”

Thankfully, the subfloor issue was only under the sink in the kitchen. They then ran into another issue with the renovation. After Janet picked out a backsplash tile that she loved, Christina was told that there was no record of anybody ever ordering the tiles. In the end, the original tile order did in fact go missing and they had to put in a whole new order.

At the end of the episode, the reveal turned out to be amazing, and Janet and Anthony got the home of their dreams.

Also featured in the episode was Christina’s now-estranged husband, Josh Hall, who took the reins on a demo for a house that the couple planned to flip in Tennessee along with their realtor, Nick. They hoped to save money by having them do the demo themselves. Christina and Josh, 43, both filed for divorce in July, after season 2 of Christina in the Country was already filmed.

During the demo, Josh discovered asbestos in the walls of the flip house. Josh and Nick decided they had to leave the walls to the professionals. The specialists were able to remove the asbestos for $2,100, and the construction team was back to work soon after on the flip house.

Christina heard that a “major issue” came up at the flip house later on, so she went over there to check it out. “It’s not irrigation. It’s not sprinklers. There was a plumbing issue,” Josh revealed once Christina arrived.

Apparently, the main sewer was damaged in the front yard. So the team had to repair that and run a new sewer line as well as replace the water main.

“This could have a major effect on our design choices, and we risk making a larger profit overall,” Christina explained.

Viewers will have to wait and see what happens to the flip house and the final outcome of the project in episodes to come.
