Selena Gomez is proud of her body and all that it has been through, despite having to once again defend herself against body shamers.

“Selena loves her body,” a source exclusively tells Life & Style on Tuesday, November 12. “And after everything that it’s been through, she refuses to let anyone make her feel differently.”

The Only Murders in the Building star, 32, appeared to cover her stomach with her hands while posing on the red carpet for a screening of her film Emilia Perez during the American French Film Festival in Los Angeles on October 29.

In a since-deleted TikTok video featuring photos from the event where several people made cruel comments about her weight, Selena responded to set the record straight about how angry she was about being body-shamed, while revealing she’s suffering from a previously undisclosed health issue.

“This makes me sick. I have SIBO in my small intestine. It flares up,” she wrote in the comments section, according to a screenshot obtained by The Daily Mail. The acronym stands for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, which can cause gas, bloating and abdominal pain.

“I don’t care that I don’t look like a stick figure. I don’t have that body. End of story,” the “Single Soon” songstress continued. “No, I am NOT a victim. I’m just human.”

Selena has suffered from a number of health issues over the years. She underwent a kidney transplant in 2017 due to organ damage from her ongoing battle with the autoimmune disease lupus.

One year later when Selena was photographed by the paparazzi wearing a bikini during a trip to Australia, some trolls came after her for not having the swimsuit figure she had before her surgery, even though her scar was clearly visible.

The Spring Breakers star took matters into her own hands, sharing a video from the trip smiling and having a great time with friends aboard the boat cruising through Sydney Harbor. Selena’s inspiring caption moved many fans.

“The beauty myth — an obsession with physical perfection that traps modern woman in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self-consciousness and self-hatred as she tries to fulfill society’s impossible definition of flawless beauty. I chose to take care of myself because I want to, not to prove anything to anyone,” Selena wrote, adding, “Wind in her sails.” The post garnered more than 17 million likes.

The “Love On” singer reflected on her body’s continuing changes over the years in January, sharing a photo of herself in a bikini taken during a vacation when she was 21.

“Today I realized I will never look like this again…” Selena wrote over the photo.

She followed it up with a second snapshot taken ten years later. It showed her curvier swimsuit body while emerging from the water onto a yacht while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in 2023. “I’m not perfect, but I am proud to be who I am … Sometimes I forget it’s OK to be me,” she wrote next to her face, which was turned towards the camera.
