Angelina Jolie is one of the frontrunners for the Best Actress prize at next year’s Oscars and she has been working hard on the awards campaign trail.
The 49-year-old actress attended a tastemaker screening of her movie Maria on Monday night (November 11) at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York City.
Also in attendance at the event were actresses Candice Bergen and Danai Gurira, filmmaker Mira Nair, and cast members from the Broadway musical The Outsiders, which Angelina produced.
Maria filmmakers in attendance included director Pablo Larrain, cinematographer Ed Lachman, hair designer Pamela Goldammer, and costume designer Massimo Cantini Parrini.
The film follows the American-Greek soprano Maria Callas as she retreats to Paris after a glamorous and tumultuous life in the public eye. MARIA reimagines the legendary soprano in her final days as the diva reckons with her identity and life. The film will debut in select theaters on November 27 and will drop on Netflix on December 11.
