Rockys of the world, unite. Travis Barker shared the sweet note that Sylvester Stallone wrote to the musician and Kourtney Kardashian’s son, Rocky 13 Barker, for the baby boy’s 1st birthday.
The Blink-182 drummer, 48, took to his Instagram Stories on Monday, November 4, to share a photo of the framed note written on personalized “Sylvester Stallone” stationery. Travis tagged the actor, who starred as the titular Rocky Balboa in the 1976 film Rocky and its sequels, as well as mother-in-law Kris Jenner, hinting that she was the mastermind behind the gift.
“Dear Rocky, My name is Rocky too. Your name is very special and is identified with wonderful things,” the letter from Sylvester, 78, read. “Life has many challenges you will face. You will need to show dedication and determination!”
Sylvester continued, “You must never give up on your dreams, never! Now, most importantly, you must always value family, friendship and loyalty over fame and fortune!”
The Oscar nominee concluded his note with, “Keep punching, Sly ‘Rocky’ Stallone,” a nod to his character Rocky’s boxing career.
Travis loved the note to his son, adding over the photo, “One of the most special Birthday gifts.”
The rocker and Kourtney, 45, welcomed Rocky on November 1, 2023. A few months before his son’s birth, Travis told Complex in July 2023 that Rocky 13 was his top choice for his baby boy’s name for a few reasons.
“Rocky George played guitar for Suicidal Tendencies,” he explained. “And 13 is just the greatest number of all time.”

He also noted that it could pay tribute to the film Rocky, which he called “the greatest boxing movie of all time.”
The Kardashians star and her husband celebrated Rocky’s milestone birthday with a party, in typical Kardashian-Jenner fashion. Kourtney took to her Instagram Stories to share a glimpse at the bash on November 1, including a photo of two Mickey Mouse balloons. She also reposted a snap of a vintage carousel that was originally shared by stepdaughter Alabama Barker.
Though Kourtney and Travis did not share public shout-outs for their son’s birthday online, Kris, 69, paid tribute to her grandson in her own Instagram post.
“Happy birthday to our precious Rocky!! I can’t believe you are already a year old! It feels like just yesterday that we were welcoming you to the world,” the momager wrote, sharing photos and videos of the toddler. “You are grandchild number 13 and the most precious little smiley boy I have ever met!! I can’t wait to watch you grow up and I am so thankful to God that He chose me to be your grandma. I love you so so much and I can’t wait to watch you grow.”
Kourtney and Travis have kept their time with Rocky mostly private in his first year of life, opting not to show his face in photos. The couple, who experienced a health scare when the Poosh founder needed emergency fetal surgery in September 2023, hunkered down at home after their son’s birth and stayed in their bubble as long as possible, a source exclusively told Life & Style at the time.
“Kourtney is so in love,” the insider said. “There hasn’t been one minute when she hasn’t thanked her lucky stars that her baby is here and healthy.”
