The Hollywood Reporter’s editor-in-chief Maer Roshan spoke to Access Hollywood and stands by the recent story about why Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, cannot keep employees. The story comes after their new chief of staff Josh Kettler left after three months.

    • There’s a dozen sources, both former and current employees (the article also said some of these are US office hires).

    • He admitted a notion to assume the stories were British tabloids, however THR story now has him inclined to believe there’s truth to it.

    • The employee who said staff is terrified of Meghan is a current, high-ranking employee.

    • The Sussexes didn’t respond to requests for comment from Access Hollywood.

The Daily Beast has also begun sniffing around the accusations.

    • Reports this week, in the wake of Kettler’s departure, have claimed that eighteen people have resigned or left Harry and Meghan Markle’s employ since she married Harry, with nine leaving since they moved to the USA.

    • The Daily Beast, doing their own sniffing, confirm Kettler’s issue had to do with Harry, not Meghan. The decision to resign was taken mutually following a three month trial period.

    • The complaints that The Daily Beast has heard, more specifically against Meghan than Harry, go back as far as the planning of Harry and Meghan’s wedding.

    • One photographer who was requested to pitch to work for their wedding told The Daily Beast: “It was incredibly exciting to be asked to present for the wedding. I had to go to Kensington Palace where I laid out several mood boards in what was then their office. Eventually, Meghan walked in, took one look at what I had prepared and said, in the meanest way possible, ‘No.’ Then she spun on her heel and walked out. I was left in tears. It was horrible.”

    • Another contractor, a florist, told the Daily Beast she would never work with Meghan again.

    • The Daily Beast knows of one former military man who worked happily in a close and personal capacity for Harry for several years, but left when his role changed and he also had to serve Meghan, telling close friends that Meghan was the reason for his departure.

    • In 2018, Meghan and Harry’s then-communications secretary, Jason Knauf wrote a complaint to Simon Case, then Prince William’s private secretary. He said in part: “I am very concerned that the duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year. The treatment of X was totally unacceptable. The duchess seems intent on having someone in her sights…We have had report after report from people who have witnessed unacceptable behaviour towards Y.”

Meghan denied the bullying claims and accused the Times- who wrote of the complaint- of perpetrating a smear on her because the story was published just days before Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

    • Buckingham Palace subsequently ordered a report on bullying in the palace but the findings remain unknown as it was never published.

    • Harry and Meghan’s office has said they were not going to comment on the manner.
