Filipe Cates is a rising actor who can be seen in the new film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice!
The actor was seen on set with Jenna Ortega back in July 2023, filming what appeared to be a wedding scene, and with the movie out now, we know more about his character.

At the end of the movie, we get a glimpse into the future and learn that Lydia (Winona Ryder) and Astrid (Ortega) have repaired their relationship and go on the adventures that Astrid has planned on doing with her late father. Upon a visit to Dracula’s Castle in Romania, Astrid sees a boy working there who ends up becoming her husband… but we soon find out this is just a dream sequence.
Lydia wakes up in bed and discovers that she’s having a nightmare and is still being terrorized by Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton), despite thinking she escaped his hold.
Filipe plays Vlad, the man who Astrid marries in the dream scene.
The young actor is actually still a relatively newcomer to the world of film and television.
He went to the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, England.
Filipe has also been seen on screen in the first episode of the Apple TV+ series Masters of the Air, with Austin Butler, and in a few episodes of the Portuguese series Crónica dos Bons Malandros, according to his IMDb. In addition, he starred in and co-wrote the short Miraflores.
He will next be seen in the upcoming TV series The Wayfinders.
