Mayo and his PR team went to TMZ to clarify that Mustin was not “under the influence” of anything in that viral concert clip that is currently circulating.
Sources with direct knowledge said that clip “is simply being over-analyzed way too much by folks looking to unfairly condemn the guy.”
“He wasn’t even close to that state of mind,” they say, and that he’s been sober “100% … as he has been for every show.”
They add, Mayo is “always focused and clear-headed at all his shows, including all the ones he’s performed at while on tour lately, and the one from May is no exception – despite what people think they see in this footage.”
“As a performer, you’d have to be sober doing what he does, there’s simply too much at stake in the performance,” the source added.
