Netherlands considers not participating in Eurovision after Joost Klein controversy https://t.co/YD1cOwEGjr

– Because of the “unsafe surroundings, bad vibes and pressure on contestants wrt pro-Palestine protests and rainbow flags” AvroTros (the peeps that take care of it in NL) are “seriously considering” participating next year;
– EBU is still doing their own research if things were really that bad, but has already admitted that queer flags shouldn’t have been denied;
– AvroTros has been asked to join EBU’s research and is willing, but rather has an independent, external party do the research-part of the research. They want that the entire process from selecting artists to the festival and how press and countries function around it is looked into;
– They still support Joost Klein: “based on the information we had and have we feel like a disqualification was unnecessary and disproportional.”
