Claudia Sheinbaum was elected Mexico’s first female president in a landslide on Sunday. The former Mexico City mayor led with 58% of the vote, according to the count released by the National Electoral Institute.
Her top rival, Xóchitl Gálvez, a pro-business tech entrepreneur, finished in second place with around 27%.
