The skinny girl mogul was visiting Chicago when she decided on a whim right off the plane, to do some shopping at Chanel, her “favorite store”. But upon trying to enter, was confronted by a security guard asking if she had an appointment. It is relatively common for luxury stores to shut down for VIP shopping experiences but Frankel was not happy that she couldn’t go in.
Frankel shared her experience, “I’m like, ‘No, I don’t have an appointment. I have a credit card. I have a bag of Garrett’s popcorn, a basic bitch purse. Am I not allowed to come in at 3:54 on a Tuesday?’ Evidently not.” This prompted a barrage of videos on her TikTok profile, related to the affront of denying her entry and denouncing the brand’s policies on customers.
She ultimately went back to the store, all decked in Chanel, to conduct a social experiment and see if she required an appointment when dressed more lavishly, she was allowed to enter the store but immediately turn around and left the premises.
So Bethenny Frankel went to the Chanel store in Chicago, and they wouldn’t let her in because she didn’t have an appointment.
