-Well ONTD we made this far. The Jerrod Carmichael show aired its (likely series since HBO aint promoted it since the premiere) finale this past Friday.
-It’s all been leading up to this: Jerrods mother comes to town
-They attempt to work through her homophobia by meeting Jerrods boyfriend, going to a gay friendly church, and doing a therapy session together.
-While his mother can accept them, she still refuses to call his boyfriend anything other than by his name and “his friend” as she still uses her religion and god as a reason to not be open to Jerrods lifestyle. Jerrod tells her “You are using God as a way to not think for yourself”.
-Jerrod and his mysterious friend watch the finale together and he comments that Jerrod treats the camera like god and that he will be judged by the public at large which is something he wants nothing to do with and why he hides his face.
-The show ends with Jerrod and his boyfriend making a surprise appearance at his mother & fathers house to his parents delight.
