    – a tangential follow-up to this post from Vox about the dubious claims of bro-pseudoscience icon, Andrew Huberman
    – Misinformation about medical safety and advances has always been around hundreds of years
    – The author, A.W. Ohlheiser recounts their time listening to the Stanford neurobiologist‘s podcast, Huberman Lab which is the third most popular podcast on Spotify
    – It’s important to note that the medium where Huberman has placed himself is aligned with the Silicon Valley ethos of capitalizing wellness and longevity where there’s science sometimes credible but there’s a great potential for it to become reckless
    – Huberman‘s credentials allow him legitimacy with a delivery about science that doesn’t sound like someone peddling Q-Anon drivel despite his alliances with many of those in that movement like RFK, Jr., the man that hosted Fear Factor, Aaron Rodgers. But the subtext is there like when he this about the flu vaccine: “Now, personally, I don’t typically get the flu shot. And the reason for that is that I don’t tend to go into environments where I am particularly susceptible to getting the flu”
    – A growing number of real scientists led by microbiologist Andrea Love have pointed out the inaccuracies in the studies he cites, or the deliberate mishandling of that study’s findings, his AG1 partnership, and questionable guests like pediatric endocrinologist, Robert Lustig who claims there’s a causal relationship between sugar and childhood obesity. Lustig refers to sugar as a “toxin”
    – Huberman says that its up to the listeners to make their own conclusions when faced with these criticism, but a conflating of personal anecdotes and advocating for poor scientific rigor for a guide to health and longevity indicate that Huberman is very much a hard-right salesperson and not a scientist, it’s an affront to science
    – No word on whether he is looking into the worm that’s in RFK‘s brain.
