Benny Blanco has big plans for his relationship with Selena Gomez, but according to the cookbook author, it sounds like they’ll take some time to marinate. In an appearance Tuesday on the Howard Stern Show, Blanco opened up about his romance with the singer and where he sees it heading. Namely, down the aisle someday.
“You are some boyfriend, you’re knocking it out of the park,” host Howard Stern told Blanco after hearing about the couple’s over-the-top Valentine’s Day date, complete with a private movie screening and all of Gomez’s favorite snacks. “I see love here, I’m predicting marriage.”
“You and me both,” Blanco said.
It may not be anytime soon, though: When Stern asked him if he “got a ring,” Blanco laughingly replied, “I don’t have anything. I got no shoes on. I gotta get my act together.”
Though Gomez only kinda-sorta confirmed their relationship in December 2023 by posting some loved-up photos of Blanco to her Instagram account, their romance dates back further, with Blanco saying that their first anniversary would be “right around her birthday,” which is July 22, and promising that he has some “really good stuff” planned.
Blanco sidestepped Stern’s nudges to reveal when he’ll propose, but couldn’t help but gush about Gomez, who is recording new music in addition to working on the upcoming fourth season of Only Murders in the Building.
“When I look at her … I’m always just like, I don’t know a world where it could be better than this,” he said. “We laugh all fucking day, she inspires me. I get home from work, I think I had a good day. I’m like, What did you do?’ ‘Oh I just filmed this thing with Meryl Streep and then I went to a fundraiser and now I’m recording.’ My day sounds like shit every day compared to hers.”
