• SNL legend and Palm Royale star Kristen Wiig returns to the show to host for the fifth time tonight! She first joined the show in season 31 (in the fall of 2005) alongside fellow first year newbies Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, and Jason Sudeikis. She quickly rose through the ranks and became the reigning star of the show over the next seven seasons before leaving the show in May 2012.
• She returned to host the show the following season, in May 2013. Her third time hosting the show was particularly notable because it was the “finale” of season 45 in May 2020. The show was doing SNL: At Home episodes due to the COVID shutdowns. Now Wiig stands to be the fifth former cast member to achieve “Five Timer” status.
• Singer-songwriter RAYE is coming off a record breaking six BRIT Award wins last month (and a cowriting credit on “Riiverdance” off Beyoncé’s latest album, Cowboy Carter).
