Its Super Bowl Weekend at the box office and its turned into one of the worst in a long while outside 2021. Combined ticket sales are at an estimated $42 million, down 24% from last year and the worst weekend so far for the new year.
Argylle stayed on top, dropping a steep 63% to $6.5 million. The film so far has grossed $28.8 million. Lisa Frankenstein debuted in 2nd with a thud at $3.8 million. It nabbed a B Cinemascore, and a 3.4 on Letterboxd. The film cost $13 million to make so not a huge loss compared to Argylle.
The Beekeeper ($3.5M, -34%), The Chosen S4 Eps 1-3 ($3.15M, -47%) and Wonka ($3.12M, -33%) rounded out the Top 5.
