Starbucks new Oleato range of olive oil-infused drinks that were released in Italy last year has gone wide in North America. The drinks include a Oleato Golden Foam iced shaken espresso and an Oleato oat latte.
Reviews for the drinks have been lukewarm and on top of that, they’re expensive af. A venti shaken espresso is almost $7 USD ($9 CDN). But what’s worse is customers are reporting that the olive oil is acting as a laxative causing them to POOP
“Half the team tried it yesterday and a few ended up… needing to use the restroom, if ya know what I mean” one barista said on reddit.
“Caffeine is a stimulant for your bowels and oil a relaxant. So yeah, wonderful idea by Starbucks” said another.
Rumors are that the drinks came to be because Howard Schultz, former CEO of Starbucks, owns a stake in Partanna, the olive oil company used for the drinks.
