“In the middle of our sex scene, the camera broke,” Pugh shared. “No one knows this, but it did. Our camera broke when we were both naked, and it was not ideal timing.”

Despite the setback, Pugh took the opportunity to learn from the situation, asking the technician questions about the camera’s mechanics. Director Christopher Nolan later explained that there was an issue with the lighting, and the crew quickly resolved the problem.

Pugh reflected on the experience, saying that the film’s cast and crew were incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated to their craft, creating a seamless and exciting environment on set.

In Oppenheimer, Pugh played Jean Tatlock, a woman in a complicated relationship with Murphy’s character, J. Robert Oppenheimer. The film received an impressive 13 nominations at the 2024 Oscars, including a nod for Best Picture.

Overall, Pugh’s anecdote about the technical difficulty on set highlights the challenges and problem-solving skills required to create a successful film and the dedication of those involved in the process.
