It came out 20 years ago this November.
Producer Gary Goetzman says it’s something he wants to work on “despite obstacles”. He also mentioned wanting sequels to Where the Wild Things Are and Mamma Mia 3. Calm down sir.
The film has since grown into a cultural phenomenon, with references to its animation and story regularly becoming part of conversations in mainstream spotlights and social media comment sections.– basically people saying it’s uncanny as shit, but sure, ok I guess technically that’s conversation.
Will they still do the facial capture? Will it look better? Will any studio care enough to spend a ton on facial capture for a sequel to a movie about a picture book?
Tom Hanks and director Robert Zemeckis have never commented on a sequel.
