OP is hammered and furious at how Mariah never gets her dues. She CHANGED the music industry. She literally changed how people fucking sing. And while sampling music has been a part of hip hop culture since the beginning – Mariah is a GENIUS at it and doesn’t get credit for what she does.

Here are a bunch of Mariah samples. Fucking BOW DOWN AND SPREAD THE WORD. Mariah is good, Mariah is great, I surrender my will as of this date!

THE SONG: A No No (2018)

THE SAMPLE: Crush On You (1996)

    THE ORIGINAL: Rain Dance (1979)

He’s a slut, he’s a whore, he’s a freak, got a different girl every day of the week.

    THE SONG: Fantasy (1995)

THE ORIGINAL: Genius of Love (1981)

Other songs that sample The Tom Tom Club include Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde’s “Genius Rap” and Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five’s “It’s Nasty” but MARIAH DID IT BETTER TBH!

THE SONG: Save The Day (2020)

THE SAMPLE: Killing Me Softly (1996)

THE ORIGINAL: Killing Me Softy With His Song (1972)

    THE SONG: Honey (1997)

    THE ORIGINAL: Hey DJ (1984)

    THE SONG: Heartbreaker (1999)

*The inferior version featuring Beyoncé’s husband. I prefer the remix feat. Da Brat & Missy Elliot which ALSO samples Snoop Dogg’s “Ain’t No Fun.” But I know you plebs are more familiar with this Beyoncé’s husband version.

THE ORIGINAL: Attack of the Name Game (1982)

THE SONG: We Belong Together (2005)

I can’t sleep at night, when you are on my mind
    Bobby Womack’s on the radio
Saying to me, “If you think you’re lonely now”
Wait a minute this is too deep (too deep)
    I gotta change the station.

THE SAMPLE: If You Think You’re Lonely Now (1981)

THE OTHER SAMPLE: Stares and Whispers (1977)

THE SONG: How Much feat. Usher (1999)

THE ORIGINAL: Me and My Girlfriend (1996)

Jay-Z and Beyoncé also did this later on in the 00s…less successfully imo but it was a hit so it is what it is.

THE SONG: The Roof (Back in Time) (1997)

THE SAMPLE: Shook Ones, Pt. II (1994)

    THE J-LO FIRECRACKER SAMPLE SAGA:

    THE SONG: Loverboy (2001)

This song features a sample from the song “Candy” by Cameo:

    THE SAMPLE: Candy (1986)

BUT it was ORIGINALLY supposed to feature a sample of the Yellow Magic Orchestra’s “Firecracker”

WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE SAMPLE: Firecracker (1978)

BUT she was USURPED by J-Lo and Tommy Mottola over a month after she had locked down this sample! It was snatched from her genius mind for a J-Lo track that shall NOT be named and shall NOT be linked!

Thankfully, Mariah did gift us the ORIGINAL sample version of the track on her “Rarities” album:

And SO MANY MORE but I am too drunk to go on. She is a GENIUS. If you want to fight about this, meet me in the comments when I’m sober and I’ll tell you why you’re wrong. Tweet this, tell your friends, tell your families, post it to other socials. TELL THE WORLD. Mariah is the sample QUEEN and nobody else COMPARES. GOAT SAMPLE QUEEN.

Read it and weep DJs and wannabe DJs – you can’t compete! UGH HER MIND!

And to the lazy ass sampling artists of today: what. is. your. malfunction!?
