In an interview with the French television show Télé 7 Jours, Eva Green states that she doesn’t regret her decision to defend her abuser friend Johnny Depp.
“I protect the people I love. I wanted to say what I thought and I’m very happy I did.”
Explaining why she came forward to support Depp, Green said, “It was boiling over too much and for too long. Everyone was afraid of getting wet. He is a kind and pure actor, as anyone can confirm who worked with him.”
She previously posted a message of support for Depp on her Instagram in May 2022: “I have no doubt that Johnny will emerge [from this trial] with his reputation and his big heart [which will] be revealed to the world, and life will be better than it has ever been for him and his family.”
